Special protected routines. Dominique P. found what happened with the loading routines: parts 4 to 8 have a program start byte at $3C value instead of the standard $24 (and bytes are coded with an EOR $94).
So the TAP file could be done in the end!
Kept as WAV file too, use Euphoric's hardware tape to load (F1 key).
(Thanks to Dominique Lamy for the tape). |

Well, event if I had known this game at the time, I most probably wouldn't have played it much, as there's really nothing particular to call home about in this game. To be honest, I jsut played it once, then never played it again.
Other than the tedious aspect of the game, I didn't like the animations that aren't smooth, and the graphics didn't appeal to me either.
In the end, it's really a matter of personal taste of course, and I would'nt go so far as calling it a 'bad game', it's just that it doesn't particularly stand out from the crowd... |

The best version of Scramble on the Oric so far ..

Whenever we saw the Orpheus label, we knew we were in for some quality software - I was really impressed with Trouble in Store as it was the 1st digitised speech offering I'd ever heard on the Oric. Yeah, this Scramble clone's cool. Well done, Orpheus. |

I totally agree with Dbug. Should I have discovered this game in the eighties, maybe I'd have tought it was great, but dicovering it today doesn't help... There are much, much better shoot-them-up for Oric. |

Well, that's not a bad game, but it's only a Scramble game, nothing to be mad about. |

Great Game by Orpheus who did very nice games for the Oric ... |

Very good version of Scramble - nice graphics (a little on the flickery side), good sound and good gameplay. A must for any Oric gamers collection. |
