Designed for Oric-1, work on Atmos with minor display problems.
Obviously, this is an early game, partially hand-made!
For the crackers or whoever: the program begins with a line 0 POKE#9A,13. This line seems to disappear once the program is run.
On the B-side of the tape was another recording, without this line, and with the basic starting at #050D, which makes it impossible to run (see [thepits_strange_b_side.tap] in stuff section). No other difference. Maybe an in-the-works version ? |

Early proto-roguelike dungeon delve game. Graphics and sound were rudimentary at best, but -- like all roguelikes -- they weren't the point. The game was utterly brutal, often killing PCs in under 10 turns, but it was all the more charming for it. It has nothing like the deep texture of modern RLs such as Nethack or Angband, but it was a good effort for '83. |
