| NOTES : | STRATOOLS is a disk-oriented utility, developed (in assembler) by Damien PONNELLE in 1987. It was distributed free of charge on the RTC PINKY server, as well as via the AEDIT association (telefree08 disk) and the CEO (ceot1293 disk). Note that Oric International did not wish to distribute it since a contract had already been signed with Guillaume MEISTER for the distribution of its STRATDISK tool.
The tool offers several functions, the main one being a sector editor (hexadecimal view but also a disassembler). The other features:
- file manager, with the possibility of deleting/protecting/unprotecting and creating a self-launching menu
- list of executables with their addresses
- sorting of files (by name or extension)
- full floppy backup
- check the integrity of a floppy disk
Small specificity to know: the name of the tool containing a keyword ("TO") of the HyperBasic, it is necessary to add a space between the "T" and the "O" to be able to launch it: STRAT OOLS |

I just added a disk file with v2.2 in which I replaced the shortcut [Func+Space] by [Func+N] to go to the next sector. This is to make the sector editor more easily usable in an emulator. Indeed, the Func key of the Telestrat being mapped on the [Alt] key of the Windows keyboard, the combination [Alt+Space] opened the system menu of the emulator window. |
